Anyone interested in real-time jpeg2000 software encoder for HD video?

We have achieved 25 frame-per-second performance for 1920x1080 resolution, 4:2:2, 8-bit video, for both lossless and lossy encoding.

We used a quite-cheap PC platform, costing only around 1.6K USD (not including display device), based on Intel q6600 and Nvidia 9800 GX2.

Current platform is MS Windows. However, porting to Linux is an easy task, according to your requirements. Also, the performance can be improved with upgraded configuration (e.g. 3K USD for 4:4:4 10-bit video real-time encoding).

For any further cooperation ideas and questions/comments, feel free to contact us (hui.zhang@thomson.net).

Hi Hui,

I'm always interested to hear about new encoding products, especially Hi Def real-time software based ones!

Thanks

Hi Daniel,

Thank you for your interests. Would you like to tell your further requirements for this encoder in your use scenario? Hope to get your help to customize it to meet market needs.

Regards,
Hui

I'm just interested to learn more about your solution at the moment, I don't have any particular need currently, but in the industry I work in a requirement for such a solution could appear on my desk at anytime.

What kind of system do you need for real-time decode? Decode performance has always been the biggest barrier to wide use of JPEG 2000.

Now we have no much progress for decoding... I think some dedicated hardware is needed, e.g. DXVA for jpeg2000 decoding.
