Compressor Mpeg Compression
on Nov 20, 2007 at 4:24:41 am

Hi,

I've had a client ask that I supply a trailer as an Mpeg. Normally I'd supply a mov. An Mpeg1 is locked at 352x288. Is there a difference between Mpeg1 and Mpeg? Any recommendations on settings?

Thanks

Mike

Actually MPEG-1 allows frame sizes over 4000x4000, it's just that some (most) transcoders don't give you that many options with MPEG-1.

Digigami do the best MPEG-1 encoder for the Mac - the quality of their HD MPEG-1 is pretty impressive:

MPEG stands for Motion Pictures Experts Group.

Invest some time using Google and Wikipedia, you'll learn a lot.

What version of Compressor are you using to compress to mpeg?

Yup, slip of the fingers there! Thanks for the correction. I always get muddled up with the Motion Picture Editors Guild!

I constantly say it wrong, it's only when I see it written that I catch myself, haha

Compressor 3 bro. Is there differences in previous versions?

I'll do some more research for sure. Just trying to get some quick answers for this client.

Cheers guys. Awesome
