I have a letter boxed Final Cut Pro video that I would like to encode to H264. I want to crop out the black bars so you only see the video program. As if it were shot 16:9 without black bars at the top and bottom of the screen. I used to be able to use Media Cleaner Pro. I would just drag a rectangle around what I wanted to keep and the rest would be gone in the final encoded file. I no longer have Media Cleaner Pro. Is there another way I can do this? Using Compressor or QuickTime Pro or...?

If your source video is letterboxed, use the aspect ratio that matches the
whole video frame, including the black bars, or else you will end up with distorted
output files. You can use the automatic crop feature to crop off the letterbox bars. See
