Broadcast standard QT format?
on Sep 18, 2007 at 6:14:19 pm

I'm creating a web site that will feature a download room, which will allow users to download broadcast-standard QT clips.
Any advice on what format/codec to offer?
Obviously want to keep file size down as much as possible, but need to offer clips that users can edit with.

Thanks-
Bryan

"Broadcast standard" is a rather fuzzy term nowadays. :o)

People have used MJPEG and PhotoJPEG for years. They're both lossy, but work well for naturally shot footage and you can choose how lossy they are.

Have a look at other how the big stock footage companies serve up their files. That should also give you some good ideas.

Cheers,
Ben
