I am trying to figure out if Avid has an HD codec I can render to from After Effects. I found their downloadable source codec for DNxHD, but not being that tech-savvy, it does me no good. I need the codec to pop into my Quicktime folder in my Mac system library and then just show up in my render options in After Effects.
Where can I find the version of DNxHD that can do that? Or is it still in beta form and not ready yet?
My online searches were not clear to me on that point.

Nope - unless you can compile the source code there's no way of having this CODEC pop up into Quicktime, AFAIK. - (Time to make friends with a friendly, talented developer!)
