Map 3D face for After Effects

Is there an easy way to convert one 2-d photo of a face into a 3d model for use in after effects?
I saw this video but it only outputs for Poser.

This video shows a very easy way to map a portrait photo on a 3D head compared to how you would normally do it in other 3D software.

My personal preference might be to do all this in 3D studio Max and Photoshop with a little projection mapping mixed in the workflow to speed things up but that is only because I'm familiar with these programs. If your not, I would think that FaceShop is the best method for you as it outputs to OBJ format which AE should be able to read.
If it doesn't, you would have to take the OBJ file through another 3D app first such as DAZ (basic version is free I believe) or any other 3D app you like!
(After effects should accept most 3DS, OBJ and collada files if they are created correctly.)

Ideally, yes, I'd love to have it mapped in a 3D program the right way.
But, I am still learning Cinema 4D and we have a tight deadline and low budget.
So just looking for a quick and easy fix, it's not a necessity.
I would like to learn how to do it correctly though.

You may want to see this tutorial from this thread.
That is the base principle for displacement maps in AE.
I would recommend using Free Form to do the displacement and position in 3D. Here is a tutorial about using Free Form.
To animate the displacement map use Mesh Warp or Puppet Tool.

Use IClone. It's free and easy. See the tutorial where you can convert 2d faces to 3d faces in IClone
