Adobe After Effects CS4 Rendering problem!
on Dec 18, 2010 at 11:03:07 am

Whenever I try to render a movie with effects I made, the effects, even if synced, get unsynced when getting rendered. The effects either go too fast, before the action in the movie, or too slow, after the action. I've been getting this problem always. Help me.

Since you run AE 9, I bet it's one of three things:
1) Trying to use multiprocessing with less that 8 GB Ram. Turn it off.
2) Using Open GL to accelerate rendering. Turn it off.
3) Using footage that's toxic to AE 9. Read on:

Dave's Stock Answer #1:

If the footage you imported into AE is any kind of the following -- footage in an HDV acquisition codec, MPEG1, MPEG2, AVCHD, mp4, m2t, H.261 or H.264 -- you need to convert it to a different codec.

These kinds of footage use temporal, or interframe compression. They have keyframes at regular intervals, containing complete frame information. However, the frames in between do NOT have complete information. Interframe codecs toss out duplicated information.

In order to maintain peak rendering efficiency, AE needs complete information for each and every frame. But because these kinds of footage contain only partial information, AE freaks out, resulting in a wide variety of problems.
