Why does AE CS5 import my mov file as the wrong aspect ratio?

I have a 1920x1080 mov file. That is the native dimensions of the mov file according to QuickTime's "movie inspector". But when I import the file into AE, AE treats the file as a 960 x 540 file--the right ratio but the wrong size. So I'd have to scale the image up to fit a 1920x1080 frame in AE. Why is AE not treating the file as 1920x1080?

Note it's an Avid DNxHD mov file...if that makes any difference. Perhaps it's an older Avid DNxHD file and my new Avid codec is reading it differently? Hm... Just don't know.

Pretty sure it has to do with the avid codec. I've exported a lot of video from the avid to be adjusted in AE and unless it's 4x3 SD AE never interprets it correctly. If you ever find the answer let me know...I've been looking for years.

Thanks for confirming I'm not the only one with the problem. Perhaps I'll post on Avid's forum and see if they've come across it. If I find out what's up, I'll definitely report back. Cheers.
