Tying particle emitter to individual letters of animated text
on Jun 17, 2010 at 10:32:11 pm

Hey all and thanks for reading.

I'm trying to achieve an effect with tying an instance of particular to each letter of an animated text layer. The letters all float in from different points and join together to form a word. I would like to have particle effects coming from each letter...what would the best way to tie the location of the emitter to each letter? Any thoughts?

I used to have Particular but sadly, I don't any more. So the memory has grown dim. Isn't there a way to use a Luma Map for an emitter? Then you could animate your letters using Stroke only, and get little sparklies or whatever you want.

Hmmm, I will look into that Dave. The effect I'm going for is bubbles coming off of the letters. The animation is short enough that i can just track each letter by hand for each instance of particular, of course then I will have to redo it if I change the animation.

Ah, sorry wasn't thinking.... set the particle emitter to layer with the text in a comp as the layer.
