How can I apply a tracker again? I tracked a layer, and after I had applied it to a layer, I decided I needed to extend the tracking. If I go to the tracker, it lets me track the shot starting from the last tracked frame, but when it stops, the apply button is grayed out. How do I apply the added tracking to the layer?

Did you remove the target layer from the comp?

No I didn't. But I tried different things, including replacing the old target with a new one. Nothing worked. Why can't I re-apply the tracker?

Sorry dude, I can't figure this out. Perhaps you can restart the track. Of is you're in the zone, you'll create a new tracker and know how to copy/paste the Attach Points from the two trackers onto a single targeted property.

Of course, you have the option to start a new tracker from the beginning.

Good Luck

Remember that you can't use the tracker in the COMP window. You can only do it in the LAYER window.

That's not it, either. I've been trying in the layer window. Can this be done? Re-apply a tracker?

Oh, you can copy and paste the position /rotation keyframes to another layer.

No, that is not going to work. I need to extend the tracking. It tracks the additional frames but then I can't apply the new tracking. Don't know what the point is of allowing you to access an old tracker and add to it, but then you can't apply it.

Something unusual is happening in your circumstance, because you definitely can continue working with a tracker once you apply it the first time. I did it just yesterday... went back and realised I needed to track more of my clip, so I continued tracking then re-applied the new (extended) tracking info to my solid. Worked fine.

So perhaps there is something glitchy happening, or there's something else at work.
If you do a test with a new track, applying it, changing the track then re-applying, see what happens. Maybe something just bugged out in this circumstance.
