Write-On Tool Scale Problem
on Jun 5, 2010 at 9:29:24 pm

Hello,

So I am very new to the AE CS5 suite as you can tell by my question, but I am working with an image that is 6000x4000 res in a DVCPROHD 720 29.97 comp. I am scaling down my still image to fit my frame size, and adding a Write-On tool to create a growing vines effect.

The problem lies in the size of my write-on tool. It will not cover the base of my vine even when the brush size is maxed out to 50. Any suggestions as to how to fix this problem?

50 is the upper limit for Write-on's Brush Size. You can try Channel>Minimax to increase the width of your brush size. Set Operator to Minimum. Channel to Color and Alpha. Check the Don't shrink edges checkbox. And adjust Radius to suit your needs.

The After Effects CC (12.2) update increases the maximum size of the brush for the Write-on effect and Stroke effect to 200 pixels (from the previous maximum of 50 pixels).
