How to view objects that are outside the canvas area
on Mar 24, 2010 at 11:10:49 am

Hi,

Im just wondering if it is possible to be able to view objects that are outside of the canvas area? So instead of just seeing the outline box you can see what is in it? basically I need the 'show full view area' option from Apple Motion but in After Effects.

Thanks!

No, you can't view layer contents that are outside of the composition frame.

If you're using 3D layers, you can make a second camera and set its position to be way back so it can see everything.

Just a quick fix that might work.

You could create another camera as Tristan suggested, or use one of the custom views already built into every composition and just move it.
