How to achieve rubbery/bouncy text animation
on Feb 6, 2020 at 1:48:36 pm

Hi all!

I've been wondering for some time now how to achieve this kind of animation effect in AE. I know how to animate the write-on text effect but I can't seem to figure how each letter stroke looks like it is bouncing/rubbery.

Any tips?

There are a number of ways to do that sort of thing. In this case, I would suspect it's clever use of the puppet pin tools.

AE has a number of other distortion effects that you can use to do things like this (bezier warp, mesh warp, etc.)

You have to make sure you initialize the puppet pin on a frame that has all of the alpha in it. Otherwise, it won't make the right mesh.
