Stabilize only Y to fix jittery scanned 8mm film

Hello,

So I have a bunch of 8mm film reels ive been scanning in with a wolverine scanner and some of the reels are very old and the resulting scanned mp4s jitter up and down. According to the manufacturer this is the result of old reels with worn out perforations and there isnt a whole lot you can do other that fix it manually. When I use warp stabilizer it does a good job but crops the image way too much and smooths out even the camera moves which i don't need to smooth. Because the jitter is only in the Y I was hoping there was a way to get just the Y data and apply it to a null and fix it that way using warp stabilizer. I can't use the basic tracker to do this because there are no sharp corners to the image. Any ideas?
