Hi,

Di you try to save your blender file in .fbx, then import it via C4D ?

Nope.

And that can cost me problems... i dont know C4D that much and they are other elemetns in the project already in AE that i need to work a long with it.

As I told you, you have to import it via C4D in order to import after in AE. I'm like you, I 'm using Blender and not C4D. I spent more tan a day to looking for a way to do what you want to do, but you can't import directly a blender file in AE! You have to use c4d or element 3D.

So, that's how I succeeded with c4d:

in Blender, save as .fbx

in AE:
- Create a new composition and create a solid that you put in 3D.
- go to FILE > export > Maxon c4d
- go to IMPORT > file > .c4d (file you've just exported)
- go to EDIT > edit original (c4d will open)

in c4d:
- go to FILE > Merge > choose your .fbx (which you exported via Blender)
- At the bottom of the window, you will see the different materials. If it's black or without texture, you can download them. So double-click on a material, then in the window which has opened, click on the texture file. then, next to FILE, click on the 3 points to browse and choose your image texture (you saved in blender)
If you don't see the materials on your object, don't care, you will see in AE, or close and reopen c4d.

in AE:
- Drag the .c4d in your composition
- in the effect control, put renderer to Standard (final)

To move your object, you have to move in c4d and save, then in AE it will update.

Hope my tutorial will be clear for you. If you have any question, don't hesitate to ask.

If anybody has a best solution, I will be happy to hear it.

Hi,

Ok, it's like I tell you for c4d, you have to relink.

In this video, you'll see how to import materials in element 3D, at 15.05 min
