ExtendScript - Populate text and effect
on Oct 11, 2019 at 12:04:27 am

Greetings!

I'm very new to extendscript and was wondering if somebody could give me a quick hand.

I'm trying to accomplish a script that you can click a button which populates text with an effect added to it.

I was able to piece together a button and populate text but am unable to assign any effects to it. Below is the script i used.

var myWin = new Window("palette", "My Window",undefined);

var closeGroup = myWin.add("group", undefined, "GroupOne");

var closeButton = closeGroup.add("button", undefined, "Click Me");

myWin.center();
myWin.show();

closeButton.onClick = function(){
app.project.item(1).layers.addText("TEST TEXT");
}

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Chase, what your current script does - it adds a text layer.

However, what you do ask for - to populate text and effect (what effect?) added to it.

Please let us know the following:
1. By populate text, you want 'text layer's' text value to be shown in a dialog?
2. What effects you refer to? Is it effects applied to a layer, or layer effects, or anything else?

This will help to narrow it down.
