Complex vector animation problem

Hi! I'm having real hard time figuring this problem out and can't seam to find any tutorial anywhere related to this. I have this vector file seen here and I would like to animate these small triangles changing size in random waves. This would work only in small scale using the sampleimage expression on a control layer that has an evolving turbulence. But since all the particles/shapes have to be on separate layers using this technique, I can't use this vector texture since it has over 6000 triangles.

Someone suggested to use Trapcode Form with a custom sprite but didn't elaborate more on it and since I'v got it installed but new with it, I thought you gurus could help me figure this out. Alternatively if you have anyway of achieving this effect, I'd be super grateful. Thank you!

You want to use a layer map to drive the scale of the particles. See this for how to use layer maps (just be sure to use Scale instead of Displacement as in this example):
