Hello all! I need help executing this concept I have for a comp. I am trying to get semi-transparent cubes to fly toward the screen at random speeds from the horizon line. Picture of my concept can be seen below:
I tried utilizing Trapcode Particular to get this effect to no avail. I was thinking I may need to try animating the cubes in 3D and bring them in using Element 3D?
Any other suggestions on how I can achieve this effect?
I’d probably try sticking with a particle approach. Or depending on how long the shot is manually doing it as sometimes simulation takes longer to get right than just cracking on and adding them.
I’m struggling a little to picture what you’re trying to achieve. You want 3D cubes to fly down the street, but at random times. Definitely get one cube to fly down the street the way you want. Animate this using Element, then look at duplicating it. Andrew Kramer’s tutorial on Particle Shadows: https://www.videocopilot.net/tutorials/particle_shadows/ uses a 2D representation of a 3D sphere to simulate loads of them bouncing down a street. I think this might get you closer you what you’re after.
