Problem with SIze of Solid with masks (in combination with Light Rays)
on Jul 1, 2019 at 9:43:45 pm

Hello folks,

I searched everywhere and couldn't find anything to this.

So I use cc 2019 and I want to let a light ray shine through a hole in a solid created with a mask, or rather just let the light ray shine from the mask.
I linked 2 pictures.
In the first you see my problem with the border. And no matter how often I resize the solid and shrink the masks again, this border gets created again. When I add another maks near those 2 though, the area gets bigger. But sometimes it kinda seems to lose connection to other masks on the same solid and the small border appears again.
Just to make it clear, the solid is the same size as the composition. I can make it 10x bigger than the composition, that doesn't change anything. I just want the light ray to shine on the whole layer that's visible, not just the part inside this border.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

If you can just give me an alternative way for the same goal, that would also be very nice 😃

Thanks in advance to anybody taking the time to help me :)

Precompose your layer (be sure to choose "Move all attributes into the new composition" so that the masks go INSIDE the new precomp), then apply the CC Light Rays effect to the new precomp layer.
