How to achieve "delayed cartoon" motion effect?
on May 5, 2019 at 2:18:35 pm

Hi all! How are you?
I clicked on today's Google doodle (the one with the mother duck and her ducklings) and I was wondering how the animation was made, in particular the effect on the little blue duck on the left which rushes under the mother's wing to avoid the rain. Please see my attached image: It transmits the effect that it's rushing under the wing by deforming the duck's shape. How is this effect called? And how is it made in After effects?
Thanks all, have a great Sunday!

"Squash and stretch". The easiest way is to scale along one axis. To get the same look as in that still image, you would use a fat stroke with round caps.
