Wiggly render on detailed map animations
on Apr 2, 2019 at 7:23:34 pm

I created a series of animated maps for a project. The maps source is illustrator files that I bring into AE and animate with pans, zooms etc and add a texture on top. I have a problem with some of the maps having a really bad wiggly render, it seems to correlate to the amount of movement in a given animation. Any help would be great appreciated.
They are all 1080p and I export them as ProRes 422.

Here is a good one: https://www.dropbox.com/s/0k1kzctdgyk8d88/Session%205%20Map%2011%20David%20...

And a bad one: https://www.dropbox.com/s/8juu0nm2zoqdjf2/Session%206%20Map%206%20David%27s...

Is that wiggle present when you preview in AE?

Are your AI layers rasterized?

I have my AI layers set to continually rasterize. And the jiggle is present in AE.

I think these issues usually get fixed by either making the animation slower so it has more frames to interpolate the movement or by increasing the frame rate of the comp. Try doing either of those and see if the jiggle goes away. you might have to tweak the timing afterwards but it would either be an easy fix or a quick thing to rule out.
