System upgrade
on Mar 5, 2019 at 5:50:24 pm

Hello All,

I know you might have received this question multiple time, but please assist me with the system upgrade:
I am new to Motion Graphic and After Effect, and want to upgrade little bit of my desktop,

Currently I am running:
Intel Core i7 6700
16 GB DDR4 Ram (8GB X2)
Asus H170 Motherboard

- I am sure I will upgrade my Ram to 32 GB. Will get 2 X 8 GB that will make 4 X 8 GB = 32 GB
- As I already 2TB HDD windows 10 and AE installed in it, I am planning to get new SSD ONLY for Cache, will this help in getting AE run smoother faster.
- Please suggest if I have to get any Graphic card. Currently its inbuilt Intel HD Graphic card 530

Any other recommendation will surely help.

Having an SSD for AE's cache will help in some ways, yes.
More RAM is good.
Some aspects of AE will be accelerated by having a GPU. Some effects like Fractal Noise (one of my most-used effects - it's so powerful!) are accelerated by having a GPU. Some things require a GPU like all of the VR effects as well as several third-party effects like Element.
