Search for Layer Name
on Feb 21, 2019 at 10:26:58 am

Hello,
I'm working on projekts with maps and there are several hundreds of layers, named with citys, oceans, countrys...
Is there any way to search for a specific layer name? Maybe by a script? I searched but I can't find something.

Thanks for help!

The comp window has a search box that's very easy to overlook:

Is that what you're looking for?

No, that is not what I'm looking for. Sorry.
I'm searching for something where I can type the name of the layer, for example "Atlantik Ocean" and the layer will be markt and shown.

Perhaps I don't understand your request, but the comp search box will do exactly that. For example:

Before search:

After search:

Make sure you clear your layer selection first. If you have layers selected, the search box will search within the selection and hide anything that doesn't match, but it will leave all unselected layers visible.

OK, found the problem, usermistake. I always have a layer selectet, that would not work.

But is there a way, that not only the layer is shown? I also like to see all the other layers, so i cant jump to the layer and work with that and the other layers.
Example: I search for a layer with a country name, the layer will be markt and i can select this layer and all the layers that are under that layer with city names.
Hope I explained it clear.

Try this: Enter your search term. Select the layer you wish from the results. Clear the search. Press the X key to scroll the timeline panel to the selected layer.
