Trapcode Shine across multiple outputs
on Feb 8, 2019 at 9:41:47 am

Oh, Creative Cow hive mind,

I am working on a rather large video wall. For many reasons, the output needs to be 6 rendered videos that will be stitched together on playout. The shine looks great it's linked to a null so the source point is always in the right position and is almost working there are a few parts where the joins are of different colours/brightness.

I can't precompose the whole thing before importing it into the output comps as ae can't cope with trying to render that.

I tried pre-comping the shine layer with a pass through but it doesn't affect the layers in the same way.

Has anyone encountered this? Does anyone have any clever solutions?

There's a lot of missing diagnostic information. The three big missing pieces are your machine's amount of RAM, the pixel dimensions of the individual monitors and the number of monitors.

thanks for responding.
RAM only 32GB

each output comp is 3840x1620 and the overall scene is 23040 x 1620

thanks

AE should be able to handle your big, 23040 x 1620 comp -- you have enough memory with 32 gigs.
You should also be able to nest that big ol' comp into the smaller ones for rendering, too.

Are you trying to use other applications while AE chugs away? Quit 'em. Go read a book, I guess.
Have you purged all memory & caches prior to rendering? You should.
Are you trying to use hardware acceleration for rendering? Disable it it and use software only.

My only other suggestion is to prerender the master comp, import the prerendered file and then position it properly into the smaller comps.

Hi Dave,

Really appreciate your help on this.
I have tried both rendering it as a full comp and pre comping and importing the full size one into the output comps. Each time I either get a failed render at frame 0, or Set Engine Resolution Changed failed message.
Yes constantly purging all memory & Caches and only set to software.
Also not opening any other programs.

Any other thoughts on where I am going wrong?

kind regards,

Tracey

I'm afraid it may be a problem with CC 2019, and I would defer to another person to solve this. I run CC 2017, it works fine, and I have little personal experience with CC 2019. I have seen posts saying that not is all well with this version.
