Problem with scaling effects to 16:9 to a PNG sequence that used to be 1:1

Hello,

I have an issue and I hope someone can help me.

I have a large PNG sequence (4500 files) made with blender. I am converting it to video in After Effects. The PNG are 1080 x 1080. I want the final render to be 1920 x 1080.

I am able to change de size of the composition to 1920 x 1080 showing two vertical black bars but the effects (Twixtor, Lens Flare, Glow, Vignette) are only appearing in the old aspect ratio and not on the widescreen canva. I can't figure out how to scale them without distorting everything.

How do I scale the effects in After Effects from 1080 x 1080 to 1920 x 1080.

A workaround would be to batch process my files in photoshop to 16:9 but that I'm sure AE can do this much faster.

Thank you in advance

You can precompose the image sequence in a 1920x1080 comp. Then, when you apply the effects to the precomp, they will extend beyond the 1x1 ratio of the sequence.

I hope you know what you're doing from a design standpoint. 1x1 images in a 16x9 comp don't make much sense to me.
