batch import via CSV file
on Jan 11, 2019 at 10:53:21 pm

Howdy,

I have a data base that includes columns with shot names and paths to those shots. This exports from the data base as a csv file.
Instead of manually importing 100 shots into after effects one by one, can I feed AE a doc that will do a batch import?
Anyone come across something like this before?

Thanks

I'm trying to think how that would be more efficient than opening the folder containing the shots, selecting all of them, then dragging them into the AE project pane.

I guess they could be in a bunch of different folders spread out all over hell, but that's no way to work......

Might OpenSesame do the trick?

Seems like I've seen other csv related utilities, but this is sort of the grandaddy.

This should be pretty trivial to script. What's the format of your CSV data? Can you post a little sample that shows what the CSV export looks like?
