Render Failing when using CC Force Motion Blur
on Oct 3, 2018 at 7:24:00 pm

Hi guys, I'm having an issue rendering a scene in After Effects CC 2018. I am trying to achieve a zoom transition and want to use motion blur over the transition to make it feel more natural to the eye. However when I come to render the 6 second scene the render always fails at the first frame using motion blur (at about 3 seconds).

By process of elimination, turning off other effects and re-rendering I can confirm it is definitely the motion blur causing the render fail. I also tried different encoding options, tried rendering direct from after effects and with media encoder. I also tried precomposing the layers and reapplying the effect but it still won't render.

I'm working on a 2017 MacBook Pro with 8gb of RAM.

Any advice or workarounds would be great.

Do a prerender and use force motion blur.
