3D Top View limitations
on Sep 26, 2018 at 10:29:23 am

Hey there,

I've got one (maybe simple to solve) problem that drives me crazy...
I'm trying to create a 3D slideshow like this:

However I'm not able to move the Z-position of the top view any further (so editing get's really messy since I can't see upcoming layers anymore).
I'm currently stuck at ~ 30k.

Currently I am using the following layers:
- 2D: background
- 3D: Multiple precomposed layers (images which are visible for the whole composition length)
- Camera
- 3D: Null layer [parent of camera] (this object will change position and move +z)
- 2D: Null layer with wiggle [parent of all image layers]

Thanks in advance

You can make a new 3D null and parent all 3D layers including the camera to it, scale the null down to any size (such as 10%) and then remove parenting. The result should be the entire scene reduced in size (to 10% or whatever) but looking exactly the same through the camera, since everything has been scaled proportionately.

Actually, since the camera is parented, you can just parent the camera's parent, no need to parent the camera itself.

Thank you for your quick response!

It worked perfectly, although I had to remove the null layer with wiggle and re-add it afterwards.
Before: wiggle(0.3,50)
After: wiggle(0.3,5)
