I'm creating some cartoon clouds using Particular and and it's working great except that no matter how long I set the lifetime, particles keep on randomly dying. I've set the death time to the comp length, to twice the comp length. I tried used a script "thisComp.duration * 2" and it still pops. Played with the pre-roll--same result. Since these are large particles (I'm only birthing a few per second) it's pretty noticeable when a "cloud" suddenly disappears.
I'm not actually using a 3d camera layer in the scene though that's a good call.
I think I figured it out. I'm using a textured sprite-- a precomp with a shape layer with some wiggle on it's transforms. Once I reset the time sampling to "Start at birth play once" it seems to be working correctly.
