Move and edit composition (contains 100 x .png file made by Blender)
on Aug 21, 2018 at 11:16:11 am

Hello everybody,

I've got a template of the Paramount intro with one composition which contains 100 .png pictures. These pictures are created with the program called Blender. Every picture contains the same text only in another size. It becomes smaller and smaller and at the end, it stops inside the ring of Stars at the top of the mountain.
().

But, I've got a problem.
The text is too wide and, because of this, it begins and ends outside this ring.

How can I change the scale of all these 100 pictures? The first picture needs a scale of 100% and the last 80%.
Do I need to do this manually, by selecting the pictures one by one. Or is there an easier way to do this?

Thank you for your help.

Sander

Simply set a KEYFRAME at the beginning for scale 100%, then set a keyframe at the end with scale at 80%. After Effects will interpolate all the scales for the frames in between.

you can apply a linear expression to the scale property.

alt + click the scale stopwatch of the first layer.
Type
x=thisLayer.index;
linear(x,0,99,100,80)

Copy this scale and paste to all layers. This will make each of your 100 layers on the timeline to gradually scalle down from 100% to 80%.

He doesn't have 100 layers, he has an image sequence of 100 images.

Hello Cassius Marques,

If I use your sollution, I'll get 99 errors and it doesn't work.

I've add my aep to this reply. Could you look at this what I'm doing wrong?

(The text "Alpe d'HuZes" must be placed above the top of the mountain, between the stars.)

1. In your current setup, which DOES have each file as a separate layer, you'd need to modify the expression that Cassius suggested to something like this:

myScale = linear(index,1,99,100,80);
[myScale, myScale];

But if you're really going to hold each frame/layer for several frames, this expression will give you a steppy effect you may not want, so...

2. You should probably use an image sequence as Andrew describes. Image sequences allow you to treat a set of individual frames like this as if they were a movie. When you import one of the image files, make sure the sequence option is checked.

More on image sequences here:

And since you're new to Ae, here's a good place to start:

I think the Andrew Devis After Effects Basics series and the Video Copilot Basic Training and are particularly good starts.

See Walter's post, by just typing I missed the fact scale is a 2 dimensiom property, thus the errors. His expression will solve those.

Anyway, I can't see whats wrong because you just uploaded the project and not the assets. I've got missing footages on every file.
