I've recently been tasked with an animation and although I got most of it to an acceptable level, I would like to add a few polishes.
One of the things I would like to do, is to use the mask path as an emitter source, to help create a more organic look to my edges, as I am animating a mask moving across a halftone texture.
In an ideal setting, I would have a whole lot of ellipse particles behave like a school of fish to morph between shapes in an organic way, but I am unable to do this, as I am not skilled enough in After Effects to do such an exercise.
You could use whatever effect you want to render a stroke on the mask (Vegas, Stroke, etc.) and then use CC Ball Action to create little particles. You can make them turbulently move around. Might do what you want.
