Applying a mask to another layer of a different size
on Jun 21, 2018 at 4:51:47 pm

So I just spent a number of hours masking out a subject in a video only to realize that the mask was being applied on a separate layer that is hidden underneath the layer that my intended subject is on. I tried copying and pasting the mask onto the intended layer but the mask appears a lot smaller in size because the layer with the subject on it is significantly larger than the one that I accidentally have been applying the mask to. Are there any suggestions on how to go about fixing this without having to start from scratch? The original size of the intended layer is 3840 x 2160 and the unintended layer is 854 x 480 if that helps.

In the timeline click on the Mask Disclouser Triangle so you can see the mask options like "Mask Path, Mask Feather, Mask Opacity & Mask Expansion." Adjust the "Mask Expansion" amount and you can grow or shrink the mask size. Best of luck.

Hi. Depending on what you are doing but you may be able to use the masked layer as a Track Matte.
