How to blend png file in After Effects
on May 22, 2018 at 9:46:31 pm

I have a .png file which is a logo on a transparent background created in Photoshop. I want to apply Red Giant's Trapcode Shine to the logo but when I do the light rays reach the edge of the png layer. I am trying to make it so the light rays extend into the rest of my comp but I am not sure how. Sorry if I don't know the right terminology, I am self taught and still very new to all this.

Easy.....

Got the logo positioned where you want it? Good. Make a new comp the same dimensions as the main comp.
Nest the new comp in the main comp. Apply shine to the nested comp.

If you don't have transparency on the parts of the logo you don't want to see, you'll have to fix it in the nestec comp.

Search your plugs list for Grow Bounds and add that above Shine in the Effects Panel list.
