How to create this effect in After Effects
on Mar 22, 2018 at 7:11:02 pm

Hello, I'm new to this forum this is my first post.
I'm a film student and I'm working on my final project for the year. I need to try and recreate this logo transition at the end of this video (0.22)

.

I have pretty good knowledge with using After Effects so I would like to try and recreate this without moving to a 3D software if possible. The main thing I can't work out is the background that is a matte of the Vue logo at the end. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
Any help is appreciated

Thanks :)

Probably one of the Trapcode products. I'd guess Form or Mir.

its just few animated strokes in 3d space with a camera movement. that 3d stroke can be made using VideoCopilot tutorial 3d stroke..

try sindots2 (free):
http://www.philipp-spoeth.de/aftereffects/sinedots2.php

it's an old (really old) plugin, but it was updated several years ago to be 64-bit and still works... it create forms very similar the 'vue' logo texture. with a couple of them moving and blended together and then colonized it think it would be pretty close.
