PC Build
on Feb 22, 2018 at 2:52:05 pm

Hey guys,

i have a budget of around 1500€ (1844$) to build a new pc. My current setup is:

Mainboard: ASUS P8Z68 DELUXE
CPU: Intel Core i7 2600, Sandy Bridge (1. Generation, 2011), 3.40 GHz, 4 Cores, 8 Threads
Memory: 4x4GB DDR3 RAM, Kingston 667 MHz
Graphic Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570, 1GB

In the last two years I increased my work on Premiere, After Effects and Cinema 4D. I am working primarily in After Effects animating. Still i like playing games like PUBG, so i am aiming to build my new pc in order to play games too. But this is not most important - i want to focus on After Efffects Cinema 4D and Premiere.
So here is what i planned for my new build:

Mainboard: MSI - Z370 SLI PLUS ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
CPU: Intel - Core i7-8700K 3.7GHz 6-Core Processor
Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory
Graphic Card: MSI - GeForce GTX 1060 3GB 3GB GAMING X 3G Video Card
Corsair - RMx 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply
Corsair - H60 54.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
Samsung - 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
(TOTAL: 1345€)

For full build look at:

I read that more cores imrpove the performance in Premiere, while After Effects and C4D work faster with less cores with more GHz. Thus i am thinking about buying the i7-7820X (8 Cores, 16 Threads, 4,3 GHz). I know that this one has two cores more but he has also 0,6 GHz more. Choosing the i7-7820X, i would have to change my Mainboard (you have any suggestions for that?). Amend me please, when i am wrong. Please let me know if you think an other CPU is a better choice. And please let me know if you think that other components are not the best choice.

Beyond I am thinking about the improvement in comparison to my old CPU. If I would choose the i7-8700K, I would only have two more cores and 0,3 GHz more. Is it worth it? I would like to have a significant improvement.

Thank you for your feedback in advance!
