Small waves on layers

Hi,

probably this is a pretty basic question, but I tried to search google for an answer and didn't found anything. It didn't help that I don't know what are the right keywords to search for this ☺

In some layers on after effects appear a small white wave on the bottom. The length is variable and it seems that they aren't related to the keyframes.

Thanks for the help

That indicates that you have extended the in point of the layer from where it was set originally. I'll guess I'm looking at stills.

Ah, ok.

In this case, they are shape layers.

Does it have any negative implications extended the in point this way?

Nope. At least not in my experience, and I do that same thing all the time.
