Hi guys, I'm a casual user of AFx and some 3d packages and I thought I'd try get some input before taking on a small gig for a friend.
The job involves taking an existing 3d walkthrough and dropping in some cylindrical animated holograms wrapped around some columns. I've created the animated holographic sequence as a composition in afx but I'm a bit stumped on the best way to proceed from here.
Do I need to request the original 3d max file and drop the animation on a transparent cylinder in that and re-render the whole thing, or can I do this purely in afx? If I do it in afx - by wrapping the animated comp around a cylinder - is there a way to mask the far side of the hologram that will be obscured by the post it's wrapped around?
