Rotoscoping Mask Question
on Nov 8, 2017 at 9:28:43 pm

I'm trying to get my text layer to go behind this piece of architecture. I've got the move tracked just the way I want it. At the beginning it's fine, if a frame by frame rotoscoping pain, but later in the move the text has to go behind this mesh layer at the bottom. Any ideas on how to do that? I'm not going to rotoscope the whole thing if I can't make that look right.

Have you tried Rotobrush on this? You might save some time. If you haven't used it, you have to run tutorials because using it is NOT intuitive.

I know how to use the rotoscoper, and I'm embarrassed to say that I didn't think of using it, but even that isn't going to be able to pick up that mesh is it? Any ideas for that?

I'm not sure what you refer to by "mesh". I see a pattern on the dome, and I see guy wires connecting the sort-of vertical pieces. But nothing that looks like a window screen or a loose weave.

You could try separating that with a keyer.
