Warp stabilize with proxy?
on Oct 17, 2017 at 10:05:09 pm

So I've got a 5184x3456 time-lapse that I've converted to prores that I want to stabilize. But it currently takes too long (as the resolution is massive)

So I made a downresed 1280x864 prores and stabilized that. Bam done, works.

But no pattern of pre-comping, collapsing transformations, or scaling of comps seems to allow me to insert the full res version and keep the stabilization movement. All changes lead to an error saying essentially "layer size has changed and thus needs to be re-analyzed".

Any idea how I can trick AE into letting me keep the position data while changing the contents and content resolution?

You can't translate low-res warp stabilization to a higher-res clip. It's not just position data; the Warp Stabilizer actually warps pieces of the image itself to achieve stabilization.
