Optimizing New Build
on Oct 12, 2017 at 12:45:29 pm

I recently received a new workstation from my employer and am curious if anyone would mind providing some insight on optimization for Premiere and After Effects. I am fairly knowledgeable on this subject, but I am not an expert and I feel I may have missed something.

I feel that the workstation is fast, but not as fast as it could/should be. Here are the basic specs:

CPU: AMD Ryzen(TM) Threadripper 1950X
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce(R) GTX 1080Ti with 11GB GDDR5X
RAM: 32GB Dual Channel DDR4 at 2667MHz (2X16GB)
SSD 1: 512GB PC300 NVMe M.2 SK Hynix (Programs and OS)
SSD 2: 500GB Samsung 850 Pro (Project files)
SSD 3: 500GB Samsung 850 Pro (Cache and Scratch)
HDD: 2 TB for Storage
OS: Windows 10

My preferences in Adobe and Premiere are all correct.
I have turned off indexing and compression on all the drives.
Power management is on high performance.
I have turned off the majority of the appearance performance settings.
I have not adjusted the virtual memory yet.

Thank you in advance for any advice that anyone might provide.
