Animating layers based on a centre point
on Sep 28, 2017 at 6:52:32 am

Hi all. Apologies if this is in the wrong area, wasn't sure if it was an expression or technique question.

I have a grid of rectangular elements that I want to increase/decrease in distance equally from the centre point (or central null object) whilst keeping the rectangles level and upright. I am having a real mind blank about how this can be achieved, can anyone help?

Thanks in advance.

DW.

If you're working in 3D, make a 3D null, put it center screen, parent the rectangles to the null and animate the null's z-position.
If you're working in 2-D, make the null, parent the rectangles and animate the null's scale.

Parent each one to the layer above it. Then select all the layers and scribe the Z position value. This should space them
Out equally
