What render method for use Passive 3D glasses? 2017
on Sep 25, 2017 at 1:49:09 pm

Hi Friends!
I know how to render for Anaglyph, but what method would I use to use with Passive 3D glasses?
The options from the 3D Glasses effect in AE are:
- Stereo Pair
- Over Under
- Interlace Upper L Lower R
- Difference
I know that I'll have to play these files on a 3D TV or 3D monitor.

Thanks for your input!
BG

The best deliverable format may vary according to playback device. You should figure out first which player and monitor you will use, then consult the documentation to figure out how to format your output.

Thanks for your response, Walter. I guess it's impossible to display 3D stereoscopic images for use with passive glasses on a regular HDTV? I think anaglyph is the only 3D method that will display on a regular HDTV.

Thanks,
BG

[Brad Graber] "I guess it's impossible to display 3D stereoscopic images for use with passive glasses on a regular HDTV? I think anaglyph is the only 3D method that will display on a regular HDTV."

That is correct. Passive glasses require special displays, and active glasses require synchronization with the display.
