Okay, I'm going a little nuts here... I've been searching the internet trying to find specs for this delivery and have found only conflicting information.
I have two renders both L/R at 4096x2160. These are both "unwrapped" 360 degree environments generated using the sky box plugin..
As a VR 360 video (no 3d), I have no problem uploading and viewing this on youtube (not using google cardboard).
The problem is seeing this using google cardboard in 3d. Which obviously needs L/R stereo content not top and bottom.
Can anyone provide specs that google cardboard and/or youtube need for 360 degree stereo content ?
I've used the "Spatial Media Metadata Injector" for the metadata and see a 3D icon, but no 3d (or option to select cardboard).
I've downloaded this plugin for media encoder: http://www.x264pro.com/?page_id=6
But still not clear if I need to provide it L/R stereo content for L/R stereo presentation, or if it can reformat top and bottom to L/R.
If conversion isn't possible, are there specs for L/R stereo content for youtube/ google cardboard?
