Removing Duplicated Media from Project (By Script maybe??)
on Jun 25, 2017 at 6:28:21 am

Hey Fellow Wizards,

I am looking for a way to reduce the amount of media from the project window by removing all the duplicates.

this usually occurs when I import a project in to a project (let's say in a case when I working with another compositor which is working on a Collect project). as a result I have all the project twice in my project window. In case of large projects that can very fast become an enormous project because of all the duplicated media....

Is there a way you know, in which I can tell AE to search for such duplicates, relink to one source and remove it?

maybe a script of some sort? or even a 3rd party gizmo?

Thanks! and have a good week.
Ido.

No script is necessary, as this exact feature is built in to After Effects.

File > Dependencies > Consolidate All Footage
