Element 3D replicator - can't do incremental rotation
on May 9, 2017 at 1:06:49 pm

Hi!

I can't figure this out. I have a cylinder replicated to form a row of cylinders. I need them to be incrementally rotated on X so they form a helix-type formation. Whatever I do, I either rotate the whole array, or the rotation is completely random, NOT incremental. I'm looking for an analogue to Transform in AE's Shape layer Repeater. Seems basic but I can't make it work.

Please advise, thanks!

Jiri

2 ways i can think of...1 way is to use auxillery channels and do it manually..probably harder...Or another way would be to create 2 groups of the same array of cylinders but on the 2nd group have them all rotated (lets say 360). then when you animate in the animation engine from group 1 to group 2 the cylinders will incrementally rotate..that is if you have the directional or maybe the shape order under animation type.

or actually you could even just have 1 layer of element with 1 cylinder roatation and just duplicate element layer and scale down and have it start a few frames layer..to fake it
