Rendering & no space issues

I made a project with After Effects and wanted to render it.. I had about 50GB free on my disk and once it was about to finish the rendering process a message appeared on my screen saying there is no space left .. There were only 2GB free !!! My video was only 4 minutes long and I do not know where did all these 48GB go!!! I've scanned my laptop for viruses and there were none and I did not use any other application or program at that time.. I have rendered many videos before and it went successfully (I do not know if I lost some gigabites then though)... Would you please tell me what happened and what should I do to or what should I delete to free this space?

Simply put, you need more storage. End of discussion.
Go get some. You can get a 1TB external hard drive for cheap.
When a drive is at 80% capacity, it's full! I bet you were at way beyond 80%.

It sounds like you were also rendering uncompressed. Here's some valuable information about that:
