 how to make a 4.500.000 number counter?? on Feb 13, 2017 at 4:47:47 pm

I read around and I can only find tutorials with commas, or other weird stuff. I need dots + 7 digits for my counter.
4.500.000 is the number I need to count up to.

you can likely use the expressonthat you have, but find the "," and change it to "."

here's a really good 'universal' counter: http://motionscript.com/design-guide/counter.html

but you'll want to change this line:

outStr += "," + s.substr(-i*3,3);

to:

outStr += "." + s.substr(-i*3,3);

to make the commas into periods.

it kinda works but it leaves a dot in the end which looks weird, and the the way the numbers jump around doesn't make it look very nice overall for a case/presentation.

Should it pad with zeroes? In other words, should it start as

A) 0
or B) 0.000.000

it should stay centered and go up, basically just what looks nice and cosistent. But i might have to drop it as I have a very close deadline.

The jumping is a function of what typeface you're using. You might consider using a monospaced typeface to keep it rock-steady.

his answer of padding it with zeroes is the best way...stat with 000000000 and count up so no number jumping
