How do you work beyond the camera view?
on Feb 8, 2017 at 1:06:48 am

I'm making a 2D animation of a forest. I want to make a whole world beyond what the camera sees, so when I move the camera around, I'll have a lot of room to work with. When I fit the landscape perfectly in the frame, I barely have room to pan around before I run out of space. What would be the best way to do this?

Ae only allows you to view your scene through a comp-sized window. You can, however, use alternate camera views to build your scene without affecting your active camera, so you could pull back or move around and see the entire scene. (Note, though, the the active camera in your scene is the only one you can render from.)

can you build your forest in a much larger comp, then bring that comp into a comp that's the final size for what you need?
