Exporting only audio from composition
on Jan 24, 2017 at 3:26:33 pm

Hello!

I'm editing a video, but need to edit the audio externally.

I'm trying to reduce loudness levels (LUFS), but can't find any way to do so in After Effects (correct me if I'm wrong?). This means that I have to edit the loudness of the audio externally - is there a way to export only the audio (as wav or mp3 or what have you) so that I could do the modifications?

Thank you for the help!

I think Ae ships with an audio-only output module template. Add your comp to the render queue and use the "AIFF 48KHz" output module. You can also tweak this to different formats, or create your own audio-only output module from scratch by disabling video and enabling audio in the output module settings dialog.

I'm sure this audio exists somewhere else.

Just render your animation from AE with NO audio, import it into Premiere Pro, import the audio into Premiere Pro, sync everything back up (which is easy), make your audio adjustments, and export for final delivery from there.

It sounds like a lot of work, but I think it would be a lot faster.
