overwriting export issue on cc 2017
on Jan 14, 2017 at 9:24:54 pm

Hi! i was working on cs6 until this new cc2017, and i find a big issue (i dont know if this was already on earliers cc):

when you want to export a comp, and you have a proxie file thats is in the comp (but in off, of course) and you get this message "cannot be overwritten as it will be used for rendering". It makes updating/overwriting proxies and pre-rendered comps difficult, as extra steps now need to be taken.

anyone has any idea how to resolve this? thanks!

You can't overwrite a file that is being read for the render you are making. If you are updating your prerender you should name the export file accordingly. Like test_v01, test_v02, test_v03 etc.

but in after cs6 you can do it!
if the file is off on the composition you actually are not reading that file when you export. and then you simply has to turn on that layer to see the proxy. if i have to change the name, i have to import, something that could be done automaticly, but i have to change the file on the comp over and over.
